GTA 6 pre-load starts 10 November, and you'll need about 212 GB free

Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 pre-loading begins on 10 November 2026, nine days before launch on 19 November.

Pre-load times

Console	When you can start downloading (UK)
PS5	Midnight, 10 November (local time)
Xbox Series X|S	Midnight GMT, 10 November (one global start time)

You need a digital pre-order to pre-load. Boxed copies contain a download code and reach shops on 12 November.

How much space do you need?

The download is up to 212 GB, depending on your console. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S both come with internal drives that won’t leave much room for anything else after a download that size. Clear space now, or add storage (a compatible M.2 SSD for PS5, or an expansion card for Xbox).

See our launch day checklist for everything else to sort before 19 November.
